International Day of Persons with Disabilities
INTRODUCTION
On 10th December 2025, Loreto College had the honour of welcoming the students from Akshar School as part of an inclusive educational initiative conducted by the B.Ed. Semester 1 students and the Department of Education (Major), Semester 5. The programme was organised in commemoration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD), observed on 3rd December that aimed to promote interaction, empathy, and shared learning between the learners of Loreto College and the students of Akshar School. The event began with a warm welcome, setting a tone of respect, joy, and inclusivity for the entire session.
PROGRAMME OVERVIEW
The day commenced with an introductory round in which students from Akshar School shared their names and briefly spoke about their hobbies and interests. To make the experience more personalised and enjoyable, the B.Ed. Students prepared dedicated slides displaying each child's name, along with visuals related to their hobbies. This thoughtful gesture immediately created a friendly and engaging atmosphere.
Following the introductions, the children were presented with handmade cards and small gifts as a token of appreciation and affection. The interactive activities then began, starting with a lively yoga freeze dance activity, which the students thoroughly enjoyed, expressing pure joy and enthusiasm.
The energy of the programme continued with a musical segment. The Akshar School students joined the Loreto team in singing, creating a harmonious and cheerful environment. Through these activities, both groups engaged in meaningful interaction, building connection through movement, music, and shared enjoyment.
